This safari hits the highlights of both wildlife viewing and exploration of the rich history and culture in the cities. Take a rickshaw through Chandni Chowk, once the grandest of markets in India. Marvel at the world’s tallest brick minaret, and explore mosques and learn about the vibrant city of Delhi. You will then move into the jungle, where you can take in the breathtaking view of dense green valleys and rocky hills, lush forests, woodlands, flat grasslands, and serene waterholes. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive leopards, the majestic tiger and listen to the calls of the jackals ready to hunt on your daily game drives. Bandhavgarh National Park, in particular, is known for tiger sightings.

Itinerary at a Glance
Welcome to India! Arrive and transfer to Leela Place for check in. This afternoon, visit the Mehrauli, with more than 440 monuments dating from the 10th century to the British era including the 16th-century Rajon ki Baoli, Delhi’s finest step-well with a monumental flight of steps. Return to the hotel to dinner and overnight.
Today enjoy a full day of sightseeing in and around Delhi, including the Red Fort and Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, which towers over the surrounding activity of the city and can hold 25,000 people. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Bandhavgarh National Park
This morning, travel to the Bandhavgarh National Park, which supports the highest concentration of tigers in India. Arrive at Mahua Kothi Jungle Lodge in time for lunch. After a restful afternoon and as the heat of the day fades, set out on foot with a naturalist guide around camp.
Bandhavgarh National Park Game Drive
Early this morning, set out with a guide for a full day game drive in the national park. Travel in comfort in a specially designed Tata open 4×4 safari vehicle. Stop for a picnic lunch and return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Village Visit and Kanha
After breakfast, visit a local village and school. Hemmed in on three sides by thick forests, learn about this community’s way of life and visit a local school. Continue on to Kanha, India’s largest national park, arriving at Banjaar Tola Lodge in time for a late lunch.
Kanha National Park Game Drive and Cooking Class
Set out this morning with a guide for a morning game drive. Keep an eye out for tigers, as well as more unique species such as the three-striped palm squirrel, common langur, jackal, wild pig and black buck. Striped hyena, leopard, mouse deer and porcupine also reside here, as do the chinkara and ant-eating pangolin. This afternoon enjoy a cooking class with the on-site chef. Touch, feel and smell the exotic Indian spices and learn their uses as well as therapeutic properties along with learning a tasty dish or two!
Extended Game Drive
This morning, enjoy an extended game drive in the national park, driving through bamboo forests, grassy meadows and rocky ravines. Stop for lunch under the striking Indian ghost tree, or kullu, before returning to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Set out once again for New Delhi, arriving with time to do some shopping this afternoon and enjoy a special Indian dinner in a nearby restaurant before returning to the Trident Gurgaon for a restful evening.
