Your days are spent in open safari vehicles, scanning the landscape for iconic wildlife, with the elusive leopard—famous in this region—often making an appearance. As night falls, venture out on exciting night drives, where you may spot the mysterious mongoose, civet, or a playful bush baby. For a truly immersive experience, we highly recommend a walking safari—a perfect way to connect with the land in this wildlife-rich terrain.
Next, travel south to the Lower Zambezi, where we’ve selected a lodge that rests right on the river’s edge. It’s a special place where elephants roam freely through the camp, particularly during the flowering season when the trees become a sweet treat for them. Here, your days will be packed with thrilling adventures—game drives, canoeing, boating, fishing, and bush walks—ensuring every moment is filled with excitement and discovery.

Your Zambia Safari- South Luangwa National Park and Bush Walk
Welcome to Africa! Transfer to the South Luangwa National Park, renowned as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations. As you drive to camp, view large herds of elephant and buffalo along the way. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool. After high tea, enjoy a short bush walk around the camp before dinner.
Night Game Drive and Leopard Tracking
This morning, enjoy a game drive around camp, further acquainting yourself with the area. After a late lunch head out on a game drive as the sun begins to set. South Luangwa has one of the highest densities of leopard in the world, giving rise to the park’s nickname “Valley of the Leopard.” This shy predator is most often encountered on night game drives, which take place after dark. Learn about the Leopard and watch as your guide tracks this elusive creature. The night drive is also a great opportunity to see hyena, mongoose, civet, bush baby and genet.
Full Day Bushwalking Experience
Today you’ll see why South Luangwa is perhaps the most famous destination for walking Zambia safaris. With large areas that are completely inaccessible by road, you are virtually guaranteed not to see anything but wildlife when exploring the park on foot. Whether quietly detouring around an elephant or investigating a termite hill, you will get an up close and intimate glimpse of all the inhabitants of the bush, from largest to smallest. Return to camp after lunch for overnight.
Safari & Traditional Meal Under the Stars
This morning transfer to your next lodge, located under a magnificent thick grove of mahogany trees in the exclusive Nsefu Sector of the South Luangwa National Park. Spend the afternoon relaxing on your private verandah with views onto a long stretch of the Luangwa River whilst enjoying the amazing wildlife. This evening enjoy a traditional meal under the African stars on the banks of the Luangwa River.
Luangwa National Park Game Drive
After your morning coffee, set out with your guide on an extended game drive in Luangwa National Park, stopping to enjoy freshly baked pastries in the bush. The Luangwa River, which bisects the park, is the most intact major river system in Africa and is the life-blood of this area. Discover 60 different animal species and over 400 different bird species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Village Tour and Bush Dinner
After breakfast, you will head out to the local Kawaza Village, giving you a more holistic experience of the Luangwa Valley, visit small shops and the local market where you will find people offering various skills. After high tea, set out on a late afternoon game drive, culminating with a spectacular dinner out in the bush under the stars.
Tiger Fishing
Today travel to the Lower Zambezi, famous for canoeing safaris and water activities, including catch and release tiger fishing! Arrive at your camp in time for lunch. This afternoon, enjoy a Tiger Fishing excursion. The mighty Zambezi River has become the number one destination for avid fresh water anglers to “take on” the ferocious tiger fish (Hydrocynus Vittatus). Set out with an expert guide and try your luck! Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Boating Safari
After a leisurely morning viewing wildlife from camp and enjoying an alfresco lunch, set out on the Lower Zambezi River for game viewing by boat. Enjoy a slow-paced boat journey from camp, spotting elephant and hippos in the water and plenty of game along the waters edge as they come to drink. Stop for sundowner cocktails before returning to camp for your overnight stay.
Canoeing
Today, set out on an early morning game drive, return to camp for a delicious buffet breakfast. Later this afternoon drift down the Chifungulu Channel along the Zambezi River in a canoe accompanied by a qualified guide, this is a tranquil experience with an abundance of bird life. Tonight, enjoy one last bush dinner in Africa.
Travel Home
Today you will fly to Lusaka, where you will connect with your flight to Johannesburg and bring your Zambia safari to a close, before heading home.
