Safari in Namibia- Windhoek
Welcome to Namibia! Arrive and transfer to the Galton House, set in a peaceful suburb of Windhoek. Enjoy dinner al fresco by the pool before bed.
Etosha National Park Game Drive
After breakfast, start your safari in Namibia by traveling to Etosha National Park, home to Namibia’s highest concentration of wildlife and a salt pan so large it can be seen from outer space. Arrive at Onguma Tented Camp in time for lunch. This afternoon, set out with a guide for your first game drive in Namibia to explore the iconic salt pan and view the wildlife of the surrounding landscapes.
Etosha National Park Bush Walk and Wildlife Hide
This morning, set out early on foot with a guide. Walking slowly, you will learn about various game trails, spoor identification and the smaller insects, birds and small mammals that are often missed from a safari vehicle. Return to camp for a full, hot breakfast. Spend the afternoon in the private water-level hide. This is an amazing opportunity to view wildlife extremely close, yet unobserved.
Etosha National Park Full day Game Drive
Set out from camp early with a packed breakfast and lunch for a full day exploring the park. Drive through savannah, bushveld, omoramba and dry pan landscapes. Here, rhino and leopard populations are both extremely healthy, as well as lion, plains game, and hyenas. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Safari in Namibia – Namib Desert Picnic
This morning, journey to the mountains and sand dunes of the Namib Desert and Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. You’ll notice the silence and tranquility immediately. Arrive in time for lunch, which is an al fresco desert picnic. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool.
Sossusvlei Sand Dunes
Today experience the Namib Desert, one of the oldest, driest and most pristine areas on earth, by climbing up some of the tallest sand dunes in the world! After breakfast, head out to these spectacular dunes, magnificent in ever changing colors of orange and gold. Along the way, stop at Sesriem for beautiful morning vistas, and through the funnel-shaped gap created as a result of the flooding of the Tsauchab River. After the dunes, walk towards Deadvlei, where the bleached and twisted branches of dead trees reach up from the desert sands. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Travel Home
Today you fly to Windhoek for the final moments of your safari in Namibia, where you will connect with your flight to Johannesburg and then home.
